Through educational activities, the project increased knowledge among children about fire protection, environmental conservation, and climate change, while also emphasizing the interconnection between biodiversity loss, climate change, and increased fire risks. In parallel, the project contributed to the standardization and improvement of fire protection documentation, including fire risk assessments and evacuation plans. By combining institutional strengthening, education, and public awareness actions, the project enhanced community resilience, reduced fire-related risks, and promote long term environmental sustainability.

Scope and Beneficiaries:
All project activities are taking place within the administrative territory of the municipality, covering both urban and surrounding rural areas.  The primary target groups and beneficiaries of the project include employees of the Municipality of Jezero and public institutions, as well as fire protection officers and inspectors, who have benefited from capacity-building activities aimed at improving fire safety and preparedness. In addition, the project directly engaged children from rural areas by increasing their knowledge of fire protection, biodiversity, and climate change through tailored educational activities. Visitors to the Municipality of Jezero also benefit from the project through increased access to information on fire risks, prevention measures, and environmental protection, contributing to greater overall awareness and safety within the area.

Activities:

This included training sessions for municipal staff and public enterprise employees, seminars for fire safety officers and inspectors, and outdoor educational workshops for children and youth from rural areas, all addressing fire prevention, risk identification, ecosystem roles, and emergency response. In parallel, key fire safety documentation was developed, including a Fire Safety Analysis Report, fire safety rulebooks and rules for municipal facilities, and an Evacuation Plan currently in its final stage. These documents establish standardized procedures for fire prevention and response at the institutional level. The project also carried out an Installation of Informative Signage with QR codes with information on safety measures. Also, promotional and educational campaigns through the design and distribution of flyers and materials for children and seminar participants, along with active promotion via websites and social media, ensuring broad awareness of the project’s activities and results.
