An entity-level body responsible for nature protection, environmental policy, sustainable development, and promoting sustainable tourism.
  • Cantonal Ministries of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry
Handle forestry, agriculture, and water management at the canton level, contributing directly to local fire management and forest governance.
  • Cantonal Ministries of Environmental Protection
Oversee environmental and nature protection policies at the cantonal level, contributing to fire prevention and climate adaptation strategies.
  • Federal Forestry Directorate
Under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, it oversees forest management and ensures sustainable practices, including fire risk management.
  • Federal Directorate for Civil Protection
Implements provisions of relevant federal laws on civil protection, fire protection, and demining. It coordinates disaster risk reduction and emergency response across the Federation.
  • Federal Hydrometeorological Institute
Provides meteorological data, forecasts, and warnings. It plays a vital role in fire prevention by issuing early warnings during high-risk weather conditions.
