26.10.2026

A validation workshop on recommendations for Landscape Fire Management was successfully held in Skopje, aiming to strengthen institutional coordination and improve community protection.

The workshop took place at the Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje, bringing together representatives of more than 25 institutions, government bodies, agencies, the scientific community and practitioners to review the Meta-Brief on Landscape Fire Management (LFM).

Through constructive discussions, participants reviewed and validated recommendations for improving all phases of the fire management cycle — from prevention and preparedness to response and post-fire recovery.

The discussions focused on strengthening institutional coordination, improving cooperation among relevant stakeholders, and identifying measures that can support a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to landscape fire management in North Macedonia.

This process marks an important step towards finalizing the National Policy Guidelines for Landscape Fire Management, with a focus on improving institutional coordination and building more resilient landscapes and communities.
