Within the Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB) Programme, the fifth meeting of the National Landscape Fire Management Network was held on 8 October at the Nobel Zira Hotel in Belgrade.
The meeting brought together 25 participants from different stakeholders involved in various aspects of landscape fire management, with the aim of jointly reviewing and validating recommendations for improving public policies in this field.

The workshop continued the consultation process within the National LFM Network, through which the National Report on the State of Landscape Fire Management, the GAP Analysis and the Action Plan had been developed.
These documents provided the analytical basis for the development of the National Policy Guidelines, intended to translate the identified gaps and challenges into concrete, actionable recommendations for improving the existing system.
Following the workshop, participants’ comments and proposals will be consolidated and systematized and then considered during finalization of the National Policy Guidelines and the accompanying Meta Brief.

The fifth meeting of the National LFM Network represents an important stage in developing recommendations for improving public policies on landscape fire management.
The validation process seeks to ensure that the final recommendations are based not only on the findings of previous analyses but also on the practical experience, professional expertise and institutional mandates of relevant stakeholders.
