On 28–29 April 2026, in Zlatibor, Serbia, was organized the Networking event of Public and Civil Sector Actors for Joint Communication Activities on Landscape Fire Prevention within the SDC’s Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB) Programme.
The event brought together representatives of public institutions, civil society organizations, protected area managers, researchers, and members of the National Landscape Fire Management (LFM) Network to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences related to landscape fire prevention and climate-resilient forestry practices.

During the first day, members of the National LFM Network and organizations supported through the LFMWB Programme presented their activities and results in the field of landscape fire prevention and ecosystem protection. Discussions also focused on joint communication activities aimed at raising public awareness about responsible behavior in nature, especially during periods of increased fire risk.

The second day included field activities at the Vodice picnic area on Zlatibor, where participants, together with Zlatibor Nature Park, installed informational and preventive signage promoting responsible visitor behavior and fire prevention in open spaces.
The event contributed to strengthening cooperation among institutions and organizations, promoting joint prevention activities, and increasing awareness about the importance of responsible behavior in nature and landscape fire prevention.
