5.12.2025

On 27 November 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management, and Forestry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnia and Herzegovina), in collaboration with the Regional Fire Monitoring Center (RFMC) from Skopje, organized a workshop in the framework of the Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans Programme (LFMWB) in Trebević. The LFMWB Programme, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and coordinated by Farmahem, brings together national stakeholders to finalize the Strategy for Adaptive Landscape Management and Landscape Fire Management as well as the Action Plan.

The workshop gathered 29 representatives from government institutions, scientific organizations, and civil society. The session was moderated by Mr. Kenan Solaković, LFMWB Project Staff in Sarajevo, and opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. Kemo Kadrić, Assistant to the Minister for Forestry and Hunting. Participants were introduced to the draft version of the Strategy, presented by Mr. Solaković.

Following the presentation, Mr. Aleksandar Karaev guided participants through group work sessions focused on finalizing specific objectives of the Strategy. Stakeholders collaboratively refined the Action Plan, monitoring framework, and indicators, ensuring that the Strategy reflects shared priorities and practical steps for implementation.

Through active engagement and group discussions, the workshop enabled participants to consolidate their contributions and provide input essential for validating the Strategy. This collaborative effort represents a key step toward finalizing and validating the LFM Strategy as well as strengthening coordinated LFM efforts across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
