Development of the LFM Strategy at the Level of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The fifth meeting of Landscape Fire Management (LFM) network on the level of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH held in Travnik on June 11 – 12, 2025, with participation of representatives of key institutions from across the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event was organized by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in cooperation with the Regional Fire Monitoring Center (RFMC), as part of the Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB) Programme—funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and coordinated by Farmahem.

The meeting aimed to provide participatory approach of stakeholders in development of the Strategy for Adaptive Landscape Management and Action Plan in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the welcoming speech by Emir Chaushevich, from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, in the first part of the event focus was put on formulation of vision and core objectives, context and correlation of the strategy with the relevant national and international context. After the inputs provided by Aleksandar Karaev and Velian Jagev from RFMC, participants shared their insights, constructive feedback, and commitment to jointly refine the strategy.

The second part of the event transitioned into the development of the Action Plan, moderated by Aleksandar Karaev who introduced key steps for turning strategic goals into tangible actions. Through interactive group work, the participants engaged in lively discussions and collaborative brainstorming to build an effective and well structured Action Plan.
