LFM Network Meeting in Banja Luka: Progressing the LFM Strategy Development

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska, in collaboration with the Regional Fire Monitoring Center (RFMC), hosted the 6th Landscape Fire Management (LFM) network meeting in Banja Luka. The event was organized in the frame of the Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB) Programme financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and coordinated by Farmahem.

The event brought together representatives from 18 institutions and organizations across various sectors to contribute to the development of the LFM Strategy.

Mr. Slavko Stupar from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska opened the meeting and emphasized the importance of jointly developing the LFM Strategy.

The workshop highlighted the progress made in developing the LFM Strategy and provided a platform for discussions on key topics. The discussions focused on the current status of LFM in the Republika Srpska, socio-economic challenges, alignment with regional and international frameworks, and the translation of the LFM Strategy into tangible actions.

The upcoming workshop, planned for March 2025, will center on shaping the Action Plan for the LFM Strategy, with a focus on ensuring its effective implementation and promoting lasting landscape resilience.
