The 3rd Landscape Fire Management (LFM) network meeting in Sarajevo was organized by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management, and Forestry, in collaboration with the Regional Fire Monitoring Center (RFMC).
The event was held as part of the Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB) Programme, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and coordinated by Farmahem.
The primary focus of the workshop was to address key questions related to LFM, including a review of the process of developing the Country report with LFM guidelines for North Macedonia. The workshop aimed to achieve consensus on the final version of the Country report among all stakeholders, establish common agreement on LFM guidelines, identify LFM challenges, and initiate the process of developing the LFM gap analysis. The 24 representatives from various institutions and civil society organizations jointly validated the Country report.
Attendees demonstrated a keen interest in LFM and actively engaged in constructive discussions, emphasizing the importance of implementing effective prevention measures and establishing clear LFM guidelines.
